What is The Big YES
 The idea for the Big YES was born out of a
simple question I asked myself in December of
2007: “What’s next for me?” The answer was
swift, and it was clear: The Big YES. That
begged another question, “What’s the Big YES”
Again, the answer was swift and clear:
"The Big
YES is about connecting to the wisdom and
knowledge of the heart."
I had the vision, but, as often happens, the
execution of the vision was a little less clear.
Prior to launching The Big YES, I had spent
eight years of my professional life as a
corporate leadership coach, working with
hundreds of middle and senior managers using
co-active coaching skills and the principles of
my leadership model, “The Art, the Heart, and
the Joy” of leadership.
Years ago, I wrote that the heart is the new
frontier of leadership, but it is only since
launching The Big YES that the depth of the
statement has resonated deeply. It is also since
launching The Big YES that it has become
increasingly obvious that the heart is the
keeper of our most sacred values, and it is
these values that will lead personal,
organizational, and global transformation.
It is also increasingly clear to me that, as
valuable as individual coaching has been and is,
it is now time to accelerate learning (read
‘change’) and transformation. To that end, it is
relevant that we join together and collectively
institute what we know in our hearts to be true.
The Barrett Cultural Transformation Tools™ are
especially relevant in helping to identify and
measure the values that your particular group,
or tribe, is espousing as well as identifying
where you’d like to be … the vision. The heart
holds the vision, and it won’t really let it go.
Our work, individually and collectively, is to
embrace the vision that is held in our hearts.
From that, all else gains clarity.
